Hello! Im Richard.
« on: September 07, 2014, 06:03:13 PM »
Hello, I'm Richard, I go by tomcat online since my middle name is Thomas and I like cats. I have lately been on a "multiple tank syndrome" manic tear; it's actually distressing. I cant stop thinking and planning what tanks, and fish I want…It's crazy.

I have a couple 24 inch high tanks that are only a ft wide, so I decided to keep AngelFish. I have a 40 high and 100 gallon (100 long I guess you could call it). I picked up two Angelfish for the 40 and I really like them. They are so graceful  and majestic, active and they have a bit of attitude.  I figured Angels are a good choice for the 2 ft high thin tanks.  As a teen, I had Oscars, Demseys, and some Africans, and some Angels. I also have a 55 gal with male guppies and cory cats. I like sand in my tanks since I like to have some sort of catfish in the tank.

I'd like to attend some of your events. I'm obviously interested in obtaining some unique Angelfish, perhaps some people here can help me out in that department.

Since my tanks are only 12 inch wide,  I also like Firemouths because they don't get too big, and they just look cool. Does anyone here have any Thorichthys Ellioti? I like their blue speckles. I guess I'm interested in any of the Thorichhithys genus (FireMouth's Genus). I'm also interested in Rams.

I guess that's it, just looking for people in the area who have and understand aquarium mania. I have spoken to one member here because I was possible selling an aquarium. I'd like to attend some of your up coming events. Oh, I also like native fish…I think they look just as cool or cooler than many Central and South American Cichlids. I also like catfish a lot but my tanks are only good for corys and maybe pictus cats for the 6 foot long 100 gallon. I'm afraid the pictus will drive the Angels nuts with their hyper behavior. Corys are cool though...So pleasant and active.

Well, hello to all…tomcat13 (Richard).

Welcome

You can find out about our events in this forum.... http://michigancichlid.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?board=11.0

As far as T.ellioti...  they have been reclassified as T. maculipinnis , So you may find them being sold as either of the names.
I have two breeding pair of them & may sell one down the road. But, I'm keeping both pairs for now.

Welcome aboard.
