It depends on what you are trying to do. If it to create flow in dead spots a wave maker type of powerhead would be idea if it is to just create more flow. A standard maxijet would do. The wave maker style pumps have a higher out put so this is something to look into.
Hydro makes a good one best one out right now are the echo techs depeding on the size of a tank a mp 10 would be ideal but they are expensive. they do make a mod for the maxi jets so you can do a wavemaker or change it back to the powerhead if that is not what you want. Look into it is all I can tell you. Just because you see something cheap it doesn't mean its going to be what you are looking for.
I like Maxi-Jet, Hydros, Aquaclears but as long as it pushing water, it doing its job. Higher gph rating powerhead will work better for 125 gallon. You Might want 2, one for both ends.
