What I got I bought from members here but picked up at auction-

10lb CO2 tank
AC500 filter
20g long tank
glass lid for 20g long
Two good sized air pumps
Hood for 10g tank

I thought it was great. I only had about 1 hour to spend there today but really enjoyed seeing what it is like in person, and was nice to meet Rich Emmers as well as Jenna. If two newest tanks that I've been cycling for the past 2 weeks were fully cycled then I would have for sure bid on a few different bags of fish. There was a bag of 5 BNP that went for $10 and a bag of some decent sized angelfish that I would have bid on, as well as some of the live plants.

I will for sure be back when there is the next one at the same place and I'll be spending some more time and doing some bidding on more goodies.

so what did everyone get today

I had full intentions of taking home all 6 bags of the large Clown Loaches that the Christliebs brought in as well as the other single bag from another seller but.....I only managed to score the 3 largest fish from Paul and Patti and they were the nicest so I made out good I think.
Oh, and I was kindly supplied with a boat load of ramshorn snails from several people...thank you guys!!!

what do think of the auction

I enjoyed seeing everyone as usual and meeting some new people too. Made some very important contacts for guest speakers and arranged some important details regarding our upcoming move to this location for MCA auctions.
And I would like to personally thank the members of MCAS who have helped with getting us connected with the right people at the hall.
Finally however, I have to admit that the auction today has kicked my arse something fierce. I have not been in this much pain since attending the MCAS Winter auction 2 years ago when it was only 3 months after my car accident.

Yeah Gary...I was really needing a trip (or six  ;)) outside but you were on kid patrol, LOL.
I left a 6:45 and they were still trying to wind it down in "speed mode".

It was interesting to see what things went for.  Some stuff that I thought would go for a lot, didn't, and others went surprisingly high.  It all depends on who's there when and what they want, I guess.

I enjoyed participating mostly by running more than buying fish or equipment.  Primarily because my tanks are pretty full but also because the 7 or 8 bags I was most interested in went for good prices but more than I wanted to pay until seeing what Christmas brings.  :)  I was probably being bit of a cheapskate but also trying to practice self-control.

Still came away pretty happy with a nice big bag of assorted foods and a tank that was a perfect fit for a short shelf in our laundry/fish room.  Along with a nice trio of swordtails.   And some quite useful sponge filters.  And I sold off what I brought to sell.

I decided I will perhaps try my hand at separating off some pairs or groups of fish I already have into the newly open tanks.

I will be vigorously encouraging/pushing/guilting several of the other MCAS members into helping out more with the running at the Feb auction. :)  It was a tiring but good day.

Looking forward to the Jan MCA auction as well.

Well I had gotten like 3 or 4 separate pains in the posterior.  But I lost them the moment I left the building.   :P

Picked up a bag of Blue Platinum Angels, a bag of Koi Angels, and a self cloning crayfish.  Won a piece of driftwood from the raffle.  Bought some driftwood and holy rock from Rich.
I used to be a people person... but people ruined that for me.

That was a nice self cloning cray.  Great blue color and huge!  Hope you have fun with it...all mine died when the air pump came loose over a weekend when I was gone.

I just got home less than an hour ago from down there. Had a few stops to make on the way back home, then dinner, then picked up the kids from the in-laws... So another long damn day. But I finally made it down to an auction. Great time, and more than I expected. I didn't pick up as much as I planned, but it was okay. I did get another pair of White Tail Acei, a breeding group of Red Dragon Peacocks, and a bag of 20 Lamp Tetracanthus. All are in the tanks and doing well so far....
No longer fishroom, I have a FISH BASEMENT!!!

Yep that would be me Tony. I was gonna track you down to introduce myself but I figured you were probably one of the runners and I didn't know which one so didn't want to slow ya down.

Didn't get out of the auction hall until right around 8 o'clock. The last hour and a half or so was insane. Hard to explain..., thanks everyone for their help!

Damn Chuck,  I thought about heading over after work (4pm)  Now I wish I would've.

Jeff,  sorry I wasn't able to make it,  as I'm sure together WE could've turned the tables & been the "posterior "pains.

Jim, you just suck...  I'm glad you made it down,  but it would've been nice if it was an auction that I could've attended.

A big thank you to everybody who was texting & calling me to tell me things of interest.
