Hello from Royal Oak
« on: October 07, 2012, 10:49:26 PM »
Thought I would post up an introduction since I just joined this site. I'll tryin' keep it somewhat short here. I'm 40yrs old and a R.O resident. I use to keep fish when I was much younger but then got out of it about the time I was mid 20's. Then exactly 1 year ago I decided to get back into it so I picked up a 55g 4ft tank and went to work building everything from the background, lighting, stand, canopy all by hand from scratch.

Soon as I get more time I will post some detail's of it if anyone is interested. As of now I'm on day 5 of my fishless cycle. Soon as it's done it will be home to all male Peacock cichlids.

Welcome! We all have seasons. I am 55 and just getting back into keeping my SA/CA cichlids, something I have done for most of my life. I used to live in RO too. Lincoln and Campbell.

Small world "Belly-up"..I'm at 13 & Main St....but I use to live right there by Lincoln & Campbell on Barret, and my sister now lives in my grandmothers old house right there on Dallas just a couple blocks past Lincoln off of Campbell.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, I'll try to get a bit of a thread posted in the DIY section with some pictures of how I build my BG and stand and all soon as I get a bit of free time.
