My name is Dominic Cergnul. I have been around fish tanks since I was born. Before I had my own tanks, my dad kept a salt tank a few times while I was young. I had my first freshwater tank at age seven, although it was cared for mostly by my dad. I only recently got into keeping fish myself. I started with a 75 gallon and continued to add more until my current gallon total at 240.
It's only been a year since I really began, but I already feel as though I've learned a helluva lot. A good portion may have come from this newfangled world wide web, but I must say that the guys at the LFS have been just as helpful. I generally use Pier 701 and Aquatic Gardens. They seem to be the most knowledgeable and competent businesses around. Not that I'm a salesman or anything.
I am currently running five tanks, all freshwater. My biggest is a 135 I got up and running a few weeks ago. I plan to proliferate it with African Cichlids of the Lake Malawi variety. My second biggest is 55 gallons (my 75 is currently being set up as a salt tank at my Dad's), which is currently filled with semi-aggressives and the coolest fish I own, an Albino Longfin Bristlenose Ancistrus. I also have a 25 gallon community, 20 gallon community (both on a rack) and a 5 gallon Endler's Livebearer breeding tank.
