Acrylic tank buffing
« on: May 01, 2018, 08:14:56 AM »
I'm not sure if this belongs here or in the DIY section.  Does anyone know a company/person that can buff out acrylic aquarium scratches? Thanks for any info.

Don't know anyone that does it for others, but it's not hard to do yourself, I did mine on my 240g a couple years ago. Just use a palm sander and wet sand it first then go back over it with this https://www.amazon.com/NOVUS-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU on some clean bonnets on an orbital buffer (Buffer is $12 at Harbor Freight). Only took me about 6 hours to do my big tank.

Did you by chance make a YouTube video? I saw a guy do the exact same thing on a 240 and he posted it on YouTube.  It was a great video and convinced me to do it myself. Thanks for the reply!

I posted some pics under my build thread here in the DIY section but I didn't do a vid.
