Moving Need Advice
« on: July 31, 2017, 03:40:44 PM »
I am going to be moving at the end of August and it could be a week or so where i am homeless and don't have a place to setup my 180 Gallon tank for my SA Cichlids. Does anyone know of a place i can temporarily home them? If not i am going to need to rehome them. I have the following;

Chocalate Cichlid - 10 inches
Yellow Severum - approximately 6 inches
Convict - 3 inches
Jack Dempsey - 5 to 6 inches.
Firemouth - 3 inches.

Do they all get along well in small spaces? I live in Royal Oak as well and should have a tank open where I could hold them for a week for ya, problem is it's only a 4ft 55g though so not sure if they like that, but might be fine for a week perhaps?

I think the 55 would be fine for only two of them; the severum and the JD; and maybe the convict. Any more than that and it would be too small. Plus the chocolate wouldn't be able to turn around and it would probably get tense.

I am pretty sure they get along because of the current size of the tank.

Well worse comes worse bud I'll be your fall back plan. I'll hold whatever fits (gets along) in a 55. Just let me know. Hate to see ya have to get rid of anything if it can be avoided.

Actually I totally forgot that my Sister who also lives in Royal Oak by me has a pair of 75g tanks that are currently empty (she keeps her Koi in them over winter). So I can probably cover all your fish with those no problem. Just get a hold of me a day or two before you are ready to move them and we'll get them take care of for ya.

Steve that may work out great. It's looking like we may be able to stay until we get the new house, so that may give me some flexibility if I need to.

It won't be until the end of the month...but I will keep you posted.
