20L on 20 stand
« on: May 06, 2012, 01:21:00 PM »
I dont have a 20L stand but I do have a regular 20 stand. The 20L hangs off the edges by like 4 inches each side. Anyone think this would be a problem? I was thinking no since its only a 20g tank but it still makes me a bit nervous.
Nothing but a few empty tanks.

I had a rack built to hold 48" tanks. The top shelf was actually 52" IIRC and I wanted to put 3 10s across that top shelf, which if you know your aquarium dimensions would mean the shelf was just a tiny bit too small. To compensate I cut a piece of plywood to match the footprint of the 3 10s (either 5/8" or 3/4" - I forget). The tanks were setup for ~4 years until I took them down to move and I never had any problems.

Remember Nick it is only a little water if anything bad happens!  I would modify it. Better Safe than Sorry.   :)
