rebuild a 90 gallon tank
« on: May 14, 2016, 09:34:31 AM »
Well I got a 90 gallon tank dirt cheap. Cleaned it up had it filled with water for about a week or so no leaks. Came down to the fish room one morning found all but about 20 gallons of water on the floor. There is a separation of the glass front panel and side panel about 2 thirds down the tank top down. The frame is also split at the top. Tank was level. My question how do I fix it and where do I get a new frame? Went on the internet but most talk about fixing cracks or small leaks. This is the seam separating.

You should do a complete tear down and  re-silicone.
The frame crack can probably be fixed with silicone as well.

Manufacturers don't like selling those because of warranty issues etc..

Thanks Greg but I did see a video where a guy was replacing a top frame on his tank. I really would like to replace it as looks like it is split on more than 1 corner.

Is there any markings to let you know who manufactured the tank? You can try contacting them.
