Official MCA Detroit Lions 2011 Thread

Dare I risk saying this (without jinxing this season)....but is anyone else hesitantly optimistic for the Lion's this year?  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
I've watched every game this pre-season and have been, well, "hopeful" so far.

I've been Lions free for years but I watched with one eye open last year and am really drinking the Kool-Aid this year. That defense is down right scary, I really think they are going to take out some QB's this year. If Stafford can stay out of the doctors office, this could be our best year in a long, long time.

You mean the lions might have a chance?  I haven't watched any of the preseason, and kind of just watch the lions until hockey season starts.  They just give me a reason to kick back and have a few brews on a Sunday.

I have been listening to my dad. Say "this is the year" for over 20 years now.  Even he is a bit quiet this year.

The better side is they dont even have there number 1 or 2 pick! 1rst and 2nd picks usually have impact.

With 12 minutes left in the game against KC I'll take a sip of the kool-aid.   :)

Seriously though, the Lions have looked good in the preseason and they are 2-0 right now.
BUT....the Bucs were a fairly respectable win, the Chiefs, maybe not so much...they were trounced in their opener allowing the opponent to score over 40 points in that game as well. Plus, they lost their best running back early in yesterday's game who could have been a factor if he didn't get hurt. Let's wait and see as the Lions face some better opponents.
The Lions not only looked good (and won) against the Patriots in preseason but our defense seemed to handle the hot offense of Tom Brady (but again, that was preseason).
I also like the fact they seem to be staying realistic and humble in the media...unlike the "Another One Bites The Dust" era that had more hype (they weren't as good as the image they portrayed back then, IMHO).

AND HOW ABOUT OUR TIGERS?!?!?!?!?!?

VERLANDER FOR MVP!!!!!!!!!!!!! (but he won't get it...some Yankee will probably win...again)
