I Need a Drink, LOL
« on: March 08, 2016, 12:51:49 AM »
Boy, leave home and not pay attention to the computer all day after making a post on a FB page (not MCA related) and come back to find a "viral" reaction to said post..............then having to cram as much as possible into the thread/answer all questions or "other" statements.....makes a man feel the need for a good stiff drink!!!

Unfortunately with it being after midnight it's not the best time for Coca~Cola.

Good thing I grabbed a 2 liter of caffeine-free Coke just for that reason!!!! Captain Morgan, here I come "matey"!!!

The frustrating part for me was that it wasn't spelled out on their site.  I wanted to post somethings that I wanted to pre-sell but didn't want to bring to sit at the auction all day, and they referred me to the website, and I thought they had no-presales as a policy, but it wasn't listed, which is confusing given the reaction.

The funny thing is I was going to join the club, list some fish, and go to their auction, but after all that I'm going to pass.  I figured I'd use my pre sales as bankroll for anything I wanted (money's tight due to an upcoming vacation) but I'm not going to take a 30% hit, and I can't see raising my prices that much to cover the difference.

I've only been to the auction in detroit a couple of times, and the only thing that brought me there was pre-arranged sales of fish I'd been looking for, while i was there I put several items up for priority, won some of them, drove the price up on some others. but without the presale of fish I wouldn't have gone at all.  So, yeah, it makes no sense to me that they don't allow presales.  I get that a guy pulling in opening a van and selling fish at random would deter from the auction sales but pre-arranged sales mean you're for sure getting people there.

Good to know - I'll check it out later.

x2. There is a difference between acting as a vendor onsite and pre-arranged sales. The people come with money for both the pre-sale items and the auction more often than not. Those who don't might have never come at all otherwise. Getting people there is the greatest challenge.

Pre-sales are a welcome thing for me. It guarantees that I leave the auction with something I wanted. I'm buying fish in the auction regardless but it's a "nice to have" option.
