« on: January 15, 2016, 10:49:52 AM »
Ok I am bring my first bags of fish to auction. What I need to know is how to keep them safe and alive. I will be coming from Midland. How long will they keep in bags with weather being what it is will the water get to cold or is there a way to keep the temp up? Do I need oxygen? which I do not have. I quess someone just give me some good pointers please.

Bag them (example https://youtu.be/VAiwxTKnOZs )
Put them in a styro
Use water/pop bottles filled with hot water as heat packs.

I thought bags meant for food were ok  for fish or is it just a preference for the auctions?

Auction Rules

8.   PROPER FISH BAGS MUST BE USED:  Fish must be properly bagged with ample air and water. Auction Chairperson may reject any item(s) not meeting these criteria.  No baggies or seal-a-meal bags will be allowed.  Large fish need to be put into buckets or styros.
