Getting along nicely now. Out of all the backgrounds I have made I really think I like this one best so far for coloration, I'm really liking the brown and gray faded together on this one. I went really like with the white shading on the rock edges for it, wanted the white to be subtle and not make it look too bright looking since I want the overall look of the tank to be dark and dramatic looking.
Background is now sealed with pond armor and installed in the tank. Black sand is added and took one of the driftwood pieces I giot for Christmas made it into a tree root system to protrude in from the surface rather than just sitting it on the tank substrate. Did this by removing the slate it was mounted on and built a 2nd cross brace for the top out of an old 10g scrap hood and drilled & mounted the wood to that inverted.
Also got a 4ft LED low profile light for Christmas to use on this tank. The light has three rows of super bright LED's which normally would be great, but since I want this Madagascar tank to be more subtle it was a bit too bright for my taste. So I replaced the 12v 4amp power supply that came on it with a 12v 1amp power supply which gives off a nice light without being overpowering to the eye.
Still have to finish some in take work, hook up the equipment, build a low profile canopy and skin the stand (going all black on the canopy & stand) but it's getting closer to being ready for the Bleekeri.
