The Board of Directors met in August and voted to move forward towards a paid club. Effective in October, the Michigan Cichlid Association will start collecting memberships which will be $10 per year for individual and $15 a year for family memberships. Some of the benefits of being a member are outlined below:
• Members only raffle at October auction - for membership, everyone will receive ticket to win prize
• Access to post in the sell section on the forum – non members will only be able to read this section, not post
• Participation in the Breeders Award Program
• Auction split changes from 80/20 plus $1/per bag to just a straight 80/20 split with the winter auction in 2016
• Access to exclusive group buys for fish or equipment at cost or close to cost
• Quarterly fish buys – Clubs buys special fish each quarter to raffle off at meetings
• Entry into exclusive members only raffle for Xmas banquet
• Ads in newsletter (Trading Times for example)
Also, you have a chance at the auction to join as well. For those of you who sign up at the auction, you will be entered into a drawing for a brand new Aqueon 40 breeder, 2 Hydro V sponge filters, and a $40 gift certificate towards fish in my fish room or credit towards a special order.
