Gold Severum vs. Tiger Oscar
« on: July 27, 2015, 07:45:30 PM »
My gold severum and tiger oscar are roughly the same size and about 4" each. I have noticed some traits that I never expected after reading about the temperament of each species.

The gold severum is pretty docile and has never been an aggressor so far, but if the tiger oscar gets a little aggressive the gold severum squares off against him readily. The severum has made the oscar back off multiple times.

If they stay roughly the same size, will the severum generally be able to defend himself against the oscar or is the tide eventually going to turn when the oscar grows a little more? I am guessing that it may vary from fish to fish, but I might be wrong.

I wonder what others have experienced with these two species?
