Sick fish. Help.

My red empress isn't looking too hot. He has a white film on his body and as of today one eye is bulged out. Anyone ever seen this before? If so any suggestions. I'm going to try and catch him(he's in a 195 and it won't be easy) so I can quarantine him. No signs of it on other fish yet. Although I'm sure there will be if it's a fungal infection like I think it is.

Looks like a bad case of bloat.  What are you feeding? Unfortunately it looks like it is past the point of no coming back it might be ideal to dispatch the fish.

Try treating with metro, you'll know within a few days if it's working because he'll improve or be dead by then.

Metro is super hard to find locally, most times you have to order it online and with the condition your guy is in he probably won't last till an order arrives. I just looked and I have a small amount left on hand. Not much but probably enough to help him if you isolate him in a small Q tank. You're welcome to come by and get the little bit I have left here if you would like.

Steve thank you so much for the offer, its nice to know there are still people out there willing to help someone in need.

I see signs of other fish in the tank being sick as well.  I have noticed quite a few "twitching" and rubbing on the rocks. I am going to run up to oceans and seas so i can treat the whole tank. Once again i was screwed by getting a fish from a LFS. Even though i quarentined him for two weeks. From now on its only local breeders. People like Mission Man and Bob stevens. Thanks everyone for the advice. Hopefully they will be ok.

Just an update I did end up losing him. Thanks everyone for the help. I think the meds were just too late. At least I have some of his kids at my mother in laws. Looks like I will have to be an Indian giver and get one back.

Sorry to hear you lost him. I learned my lesson about q-tanks and new fish the hard way a couple years ago. I use to Q-tank them for 2 weeks and still had some issues from time to time. Now I Q-tank all fish no matter what for 30 days just to be on the safe side. It's saved a number of fish I am sure of that.
