WTB Black Substrate / Sand for 180 gallon.
« on: April 04, 2015, 10:44:25 AM »
I am looking at putting a black sand or fine gravel in my 180 gallon tank. Currently leaning toward Tahitian Moon Sand by Caribsea or Rift Lake Sand by Pure Water Pebbles.

Before I order online and get killed with shipping, or drive all over the state trying to find enough I thought I would see if anyone has an extra, or used sand/gravel along those lines I could pick up for relatively cheap.

Send me a PM or leave a note here.  Thanks!

Petco has free shipping on $49.00 or more too. And has black sand.

I'm with blair a bag of sandblasting sand approx $10 at tractor supply and you can buy all the unwanted baby roosters.  Your neighbor's will love you for it.

Love,  hate, who cares?  It'd hilarious in my uptight subdivision.

Alright I will look into that.  The reviews seemed a bit mixed... but the bottom line sounds to be wash, wash, wash.... and then wash some more.

Black Diamond Blasting Sand, 50lbs at tractor supply for under $10.  All kinds of reviews on it in planted tank forums.
