Texas Holey Rock

I am wondering if there is any solution to the algee build up on my Texas Holey Rock.  I have read before that it wwill get algee build up but I dont remember seeing a solution other then taking it all out to clean it and puting it back in.  I dont seem to have algee anywhere else in the tank

The easiest way to get algae off of it is to put the pieces you want to clean in a 5 gallon bucket, fill with water, add a few capfuls of regular bleach, and wait a couple of days.  Then rinse off the bucket and rock, fill with clean water, and wait another day.  At that point, it should be clean and have all the residual bleach off of it.

Yeah, taking my 48 pound piece out sounds like a pia. Is there any harm in letting it build if its only on the rock?

Algae on your rocks isn't going to do any harm.  In the wild, a number of species of cichlids actually scrape longer algae off of rocks to eat it.

Algae looks good IMO - makes the tank look more natural!

It's also the easiest plant for me to grow.

Yep, I encourage algae growth in my tanks as well.
I basically keep just the front glass clear.
