Misfortunes just keep piling on. I can't think of the last time i had this much bad fish-keeping luck. 

- New fish brought in ich

- Ich accidentally got transferred to a second tank as well, the most difficult to treat

- I'm losing 1 melanogenys every ~1.5 weeks. 3 total now. It's always one of the largest from the group, just starting to color up, and nothing looks wrong with them. The other fish in the tank all look, act, and eat just fine. 48"x12"x18" tank, 78F, 3 air-driven filters so lots of filtration and O2 available. On the bright side, I've got 5 left.

- Then the heater in a 150 became stuck on. I just caught it today when feeding. Water temp was ~96F and I lost one female protomelas so far.

What's next?!

Yesterday I had a WC Triglachromis wedge himself in between a hydrospnge and the tank wall then die .  The only common thread I can think of is Westland

The ich problem is isolated to 2 tanks (new cats/clowns I'd picked up and the main show tank). Both have been under treatment for about 1-1.5 weeks now. The melanogenys are in separate tank that also includes cyps. All of the fish are 2.5" or less (the ones dying have been the ones reaching 2.5". There has been no sign of ich (visible dots, fish scraping or appearing agitated, etc). IME and supported by math, the once some fish start becoming heavily infected enough to die, the growth rate in ich parasites is exponential, so if it were ich, the tank should have a full on epidemic now, especially since these aren't very robust fish. I don't think it's an ich problem. Maybe bad luck and stress?

That sucks Ron. Is it the one clown you got from me awhile back that has it? I know I had told ya when ya got him he had just got over ich but I hoped you wouldn't have any more issue with him.

That's the one thing I don't miss about having my big tank is the stress. Even though my 265 was only up a short time it just seemed like there was always something to keep me worried about it for some reason.
