Yeah.. I saw that the last auction.. So is $35-50 what I should expect to pay for a good size piece?

Last auction for MCAS or us?  Either way, auction prices fluctuate & I'd recommend looking at a LFS to get an idea of what prices driftwood is currently selling for. That way you have something to compare to & can make a more educated bid(s).
But, Also remember that your money is going twards supporting another local hobbyist & a local club. So, it pays it forward if you don't end up being a cheapass. ;)

Yeah.. I'm more than happy to support MCAS and the other hobbyists at the auction but I probably won't compare LFS prices to anything to get an idea what things cost. Hopefully there are a few members that have some that I can snag from them.. It will be like paying it forward.. I pay them at the auction, then they spend that cash on fishy stuff.. a Win-Win.

That's another good way of looking at it.

Or if there is a nice looking piece of driftwood in the auction, you bid and win the item...that's a Win-Win-Win because the seller gets paid, the club gets paid (which helps the club's pay for functions like this), and you get a great centerpiece

Grizzly.. That would assume the piece of driftwood was sold at the auction.. With so many fish and items sold prior to.. Being that the auction is a great meeting place.. It's hard to know if any will show up.. Hence the reason I started the post.. If there is driftwood I will certainly consider buying it during the auction. I am all about supporting the club.. However I know there are individuals who prefer to sell certain items to be sure they protect themselves from low bids.. Also a reason why not many "new" fish come the auction. I know several breeders are very generous with donations but also do quite well with sales prior to the auction itself. Again.. Win-win..

So does anyone have driftwood? Or is anyone bringing some to the auction?

Thanks! Marc and marcus

I have a couple big and presoaked pieces (currently just in tanks), but I will not be at the auction this weekend.  If you don't find what you are looking for before then, let me know and I can take some pictures of what I have. - Lana
