Posting in Sales Thread
« on: January 01, 2015, 03:05:06 AM »
Okay, so I noticed that several members will post a new reply on their for sale threads simply stating that the item is sold.
Posting a new reply just bumps a thread to the top/front page and takes up space with a thread that is no longer relevant.
All that is required is to modify the title to say "SOLD". It doesn't need to be "bumped" to the top.
If I'm missing some reason for this I hope those that do this will post a reply with the beneficial effects.

Now if there is no logical reason, then how much difficulty is there for a mod to just move the thread if it's pointed out?

BTW, I'm not attempting to upset anyone and this is not directed at any one person...I would just like to know if there is a good reason for the bumping of the thread.

Sounds like you were looking for this. ;)

I guess I should have "bumped" the old thread since the idea didn't "sell"?  8)

All kidding aside, some of the content of that old thread is irrelevant/obsolete now. For example, the "delete thread" option is no longer available, which is why I started a new thread.

Is there a FS thread that has been pointed out by the person who originally posted it that wanted it removed? If they were to report their own thread, it would be more easily noticed.

If people are trying to ask for someone else's thread to be removed because the items are sold, I'm not sure that is really necessary.

Hi Ron, sent you a pm.

p.s. I mentioned moving the thread in question, not removing.it in this new posting.
