linear air pump
« on: December 19, 2014, 06:09:24 PM »
I'm looking to buy a new linear air pump I have the LPH from
jehmco but I'm looking at the Alita's from Ken's Fish. Is there
anyone that has the Alita and can comment on them.

Thanks

I have the Alita AL-15A and it is the quietest air pump I have ever owned!  Extremely powerful and is silent!

If your LPH is wearing out there are repair kits available for them.

Altia AL-60 here... bought it used & it lasted almost three years before it needed a rebuild.

Don't mean to be a drag, but how long should they last before a rebuild? 3 years doesn't sound like very long.

it's recommended to rebuild once a year.  But, IMO Just keep a rebuild kit on hand.

Either way it lasted almost three years for me & who knows how long it was going for the previous owner.

I perfer Alita.  I bought both the size LPH and Alita and ended up liking Alita better.  I currently have three Altina running.

Was wondering how many filters or other outputs you can operate on the 15A? I'm still looking for a pump to handle filtration for about 12 20G longs and breeder boxes and was wondering which Alita is best suited.

Rebuilt my AL-60 last night.  It's manufacturing date is 2008, so if the previous owner did not rebuild it, then it lasted 6yrs.
