Ignorant craigslist people
« on: December 08, 2014, 07:16:48 PM »
Okay I have to rant, or at least share the pain of ignorant people on CL lol

At what point in life did 99% of society become complete idiots? Seriously I swear I am so sick of stupid stupid STUPID people. I've had decent luck with selling non aquarium stuff on CL, but it seems since I have started selling some aquarium stuff I have found nothing but complete morons on CL that are getting a hold of me. Is it something to do with the aquarium buyers on CL or something else?

Just to give a quick idea of what I mean. I've had at least 7 people in the past two weeks get a hold of me about a 10g set up I had on there and say "I want it!". I reply to their emails and nothing. The ones that give phone # I call and I either never hear back, or one was actually a disconnected #. The latest one the dude emailed me 4 times asking "whats the dimensions?"  ..... :odude it's a 10g tank, it's standard dimensions. Then he asks "how tall is the iron stand"....ah DUH it's a standard iron stand, 29". Then he says "is it cracked?"....Ummmmm don't you think I would throw a 10g away and not post it for sale as "great shape" if it were cracked??

I swear I have never in my life dealt with such stupidity as I have lately on CL since listing some aquarium stuff.

Sorry had to rant. I feel better now  ;D lol

Just wait until the picture requests start rolling in. ;)

I especially love it when selling 1" fry.  "Can I get pictures? "  " No!  It's a little 1" grey fish!"

I feel your pain. We have Kijiji here and it amazes me how many people will email me and ask 'is it still available?'. I reply yes and ***insert crickets here***
I guess they just wanted to know if it was still available!  :-\

i try to avoid craigslist as much as possible..i have posted things to sell there twice.first time was for my custom knife collection...lots of scammers and folks offering me 20 bucks for a 600 dollar knife...
the second time was for some fish..a breeding pair of red tiger oscars...2 breeding pairs of gold severums pls 3 extras...2 breeding pairs of red shoulder severums plus 2 extras....the next day some i get a call from a guy offering me $60 for all of the fish..he happened to own a local shop nearby....i turned him down of course....a day later there is a post on craigslist warning people to stay away from folks trying to get rid of big fish because they bought them when small not knowing how big they get and now had to get rid of them...
i did finally sell the fish to a guy that gave me almost twice what i was asking....i still have some of my knife collection left but i started doing guin shows again am selling them that way....fewer idiots to bother me....

craigslist is a pain... but you can sell stuff on there.

Try selling cars/trucks.  What a pain.

Please refer to my reply #3 in your "Marineland 350 canister" thread...Of course, in this instance it is strictly fantasy.
