They like high pH around 7.8 ish water temp around 80 and will eat pretty much anything. They lack a swim bladder so act a lot like a hawk fish.  When eggs are hatched takes 4 days to become wrigglers and 5 before they are free swimming.  Once they pair they generally pair for life and will rarely create a new pair.  They should not in no means be mixed with rift Lake fish.

Have been swamped with work lately when I came home to eat dinner and feed the fish I saw the biggest of the males was guarding a flower pot and a female was going in and out didn't get a chance to look last night but saw this evening wigglers.  Will try to post pics tomorrow

Hard to tell I've seen a lot in the pot I don't want to move it and freak the parents out so I will wait and see.  They are free swimming at 1/2 inch in 6 days and hit a inch in a month.  Thinking about bringing these as a BAP submission in February

Look similar to what is commonly sold as a Buffalo Head.
