125 tank

this may sound dumb but does a 125 gallon have a center support or even maybe 2 supports? I have not seen the tank in person but the pictures show no supports at all. how do you put a lid or lights on it?

Mine has two. My 100 gal tank has none. How thick is the glass ?  My 125 gal is thinner the the 100 gal tank.

I've seem them both ways. My old 110 didnt have any. multiple ways to deal with that from what ive seen. One way is to order a new top plastic bracket which will have a support built in...get the old one off, silicone the new one in. I have also heard of people that silicone a cut piece of glass in the center to help with the bowing also. Or even plastic welding a new piece of plastic in place also.
However my 110 didnt have either. It had a cut piece of glass that was just there to sent the lids on. always made me nervous though cause that thing bowed like crazy. So much that when the tank was drained the glass wouldnt even fit inbetween and when it was full the glass bairly fit on the edges. More than once my lids and lights fell in. Talking about a 3" total difference.
Have to be careful too cause I have heard of people having a similar setup to mine and the glass actually broke cause they drained it too low and there was not enough bowing and the center piece broke.

I am so tempted to scoop it up.  I guess the first step is to go see it in person.  They only want 100 but its just the tank.  I found a stand for another 100 but that would just be the beginning.

Just the tank? no filter no gravel no stand no lights? And you will have to find a way to get a center brace? If I was you I would wait. Ive been looking fairly heavy for only about 2 months and I found a 150 that has a oak hood, stand, lights, heaters, pump, sump filter for $300...you will have atleast that much into the tank you are looking at. Im sure my deal is a bit better than most but for a $200-$300 you can get yourself atleast a good tank and stand all at once..and they will often come with some kind of extra eq.

But....if the tank is brand new...I would maybe go for it. But probably only if its brand new or Im going to use it as a breeding/grow out tank in my fish room.

Sorry. Hope I didnt burst your bubble.

I'd love to comment about my tanks, but don't want to jinx anything ....  ???

For center braces I've used both glass plate and formed steel straps to add a center support for glass hoods.
