Yes.

They also get big. They get big quickly. Using poor judgement once I took one in for about a year or so during which it went from 7" to 22". I would highly not recommend one for typical glass aquarium (even including the really big glass aquariums - 180-220-300+ gallons).

Example of size:

If you have a small pond available, well then by all means they are a beautiful fish. FWIW I can't recall the exact names, but there are a few "shovelnose" type cats that do stay smaller (20" or less) that would be suitable for a very large glass aquarium.

The photo is P. Fasciatum, unless the name has since been changed. The last several years of my fish keeping days were strictly large cats. They still hold a very special place in my heart.

All my large cats were fed by hand, and no that is not to say they would eat your hand! They were also puppy dog tame...would come to the surface to be petted.

Seeing that photo gave me a slight urge, but alas no room for a pond.

That is a sweet looking cat in the photo.  Never seen one of those before.

Nope, I didn't catch that one. I do like fishing, but I've never been off the North American continent, thus I've never caught anything that exotic.
