While the anti-netting devices are intriguing, wouldn't the "bad guys" eventually find it worthwhile to just go down there and cut them off?

The comment about reintroduction of captive fish not working made me LOL. Now Ad did comment that there have been successful programs, but prior to that I couldn't help but think of photos I've seen from Hawaii or the western US where wild populations of some africans have established.

And the part about excluding big non-profit business money has me baffled. Who cares who pays for it if help came quickly. I can only think that there must be some concern about involving a larger "save the world" type organization and then have them work towards forever banning any cichlid collection from the lake (presuming that the populations were at a level where sustainable, regulated harvest didn't have a significant impact on their populations).
