Tigers 2014
« on: March 31, 2014, 11:33:21 AM »
Gotta start up the Tigers post for the 2014 season. Today is opening day. All the rod orders/work is on hold for today. Popcorn will be in the microwave at 1pm, 51" plasma will be warming up, and Verlander will be taking the mound for opening day 2014. It's OFFICIALLY spring! 8)

Well... good way to start the season.

I do wish the wins were a little more convincing... but, a win is a win!

3-0 great way to start off the season. Headed to the ballpark this weekend to see them wrap up the series with Baltimore.

Gonna take more than one season for the tigs to go from playing fan pleasing long ball to a speedy base savvy club.  I do think they are playoff worthy but doubt they will take the pennant for at least another season.  2016 champs is the goal!!

I agree with that Ken. Long balls is always good when it happens, but I personally find small ball such as bunting and stealing a much more satisfying game to watch because it shows an overall solid team and not just a one or two guy show. Games like yesterdays were really fun to watch.

Went to the Tiger game today, and witnessed first hand the exact reason I never try to catch a foul ball unless it's bounced off something first. A guy about 15 rows in front of me thought he was gonna bare hand a pop-foul and misjudged it. Ball hit him square in the head and laid him out cold for at least 2 mins till the medics finally came to help him up to get some medical attention. The sound it made when it hit the guy in the face was sickening :o He was gone for at least an hour or more but it was good to see him slowly being helped back to his seat finally in the 9th inning.

The Indians will beat the Tigers.....lol
i think the great thing about many of the home team fans is that "win or lose" they love their team..that is a true fan....let's see how our season works out...but in the end we should still celebrate..

Good luck Tigers.
