Moorii Blue Dolphin goes airborne
« on: February 01, 2012, 12:04:38 AM »
I am sure most of you have experienced something similar.  During tonight's feeding, my 6" Moorii went airborne trying to secure his share of the food.  I opened the glass lid of 90-gallon and started dropping the pellets.  The usual frenzy started when I noticed something flash past  my face.  The moorii launched himself 7-feet away from the tank and landed under my TV.  Luckily, the floor is carpeted and he appears fine.

Lol, I have a few fish that jump for their food.  One is a female Oscar that I have in with a couple of pikes.  They inhale pretty much everything they can, so as soon as she sees me, she's waiting to pounce!  I've seen her clear the surface completely a couple of times, but that's the only time she jumps.

This is the reason I traded in my 15" Jaguar a couple yrs ago.
I had to put him back in the tank at least 3tines a week.
The only difference is my Jag was jumping out to attack me, instead of trying to get the pellets.
