FUNGUS ???
« on: January 24, 2014, 08:28:30 PM »
Has anyone run into this.

After I filled and started my new tank, I put in 80+ pounds of holey rock from established tanks.  Established hydrosponge V.  Established bio ceramic into my FX6.  A large 24x24 inch wood.

After 48 hours, the wood has fungus on it.  It was out of the original tank for about an hour, so it cooled off but didn't dry out.

I pulled it out.  Any suggestions as to what I should do so I can put it back into the tank?  Let it dry out completely?  Soak in a dilute bleach or salt solution?

Thanks

I've had that sometimes.  Usually if you scrub it off a few times it's gone.

What kind of fungus?  White?  Black?  Something else?

White, thin and fluffy.

Thanks

OK, I'll get my scrub brush out.    :P

I also added some salt to the tank.
