Male to Female Ratio
« on: January 23, 2012, 05:52:53 PM »
I was just checking out the website general statistics and found our membership ratio is 14 males for every 1 female.   ???  I need to find a new hobby....

I've never quite understood why the fish hobby composition is like this. If you go to dog shows, as best I remember it, there's more women than men. If you went to a cat show I suspect you'd find the same. I think avian interests are closer to a 50/50 split. I've got no clue how the reptile/amphibian scene is - maybe the same as fish?

Guppy forums, now it is that type of sexist attitude that chases all the ladies away Jeff.

Unless runawaypencil is also named Jeff than why did I get the blame for this comment?

I'm starting to feel like a whipping boy.  Taking the blame for every smart alec / dumb comment.  There are others on the forum that say dumb things too!

Okay we are trending in the WRONG direction.  In the last 7 weeks we've fallen from 14:1 ratio to 18:1.  We need more BITCHes (Babes in the Cichlid Hobby).

I'm working on my Fiance but she isn't having it...She said maybe if I get into Discus. Hell I had her playing WoW...why are cichlids so hard for her to get into?  :D
