Meijer Tank Sale
« on: December 07, 2013, 12:48:03 PM »
Just stopped in to my local Meijer to find fish tanks 25% off with the sale ending today. There's also a mperks coupon for $10 off $60 in the pet section. Original 10 gal is 14.99, with 25% off being $11.24. Then if you buy 6 you get the mperks coupon putting the total at $57.46 for 6x 10 gal. A bit less than the dollar a gallon sale that happens once a year from the other stores. The 29 gal tanks were very similarly priced per gallon.

You just have to put up with people looking at you funny during checkout...

wt size tank would you use as a quarantine tank?

It depends on the size and quantity of fish you'll be quarantining I think.  What did you have in mind?

Just to use it when i buy fish or if a fish breaks out with something. I imagine if a fish had something in my tank I'd treat the whole tank. I'm just trying to plan ahead before my tank arrives the end of the month and have things ready.

20 gallon long is a good size I think, big enough to stock some fish yet small enough that you can manage moving it empty by yourself, I used to think 29 gal was the perfect size but I managed to drop one so yeah, maybe 20 is better

Thats some weight in a 29, if filled full. How did you managed to pick up over 200 punds of water and tank?

no it was empty, it's just cumbersome due to the added height, a 20 l is much easier to maneuver. I was rinsing out the 29g on the porch and I went to carry it back in and it slipped out of my hands and shattered
