I have no experience, but was great in physics and chemistry if that makes any sense lol. My question would be how many air hoses will be hooked up to this, as each one will act as a relief point of some pressure. If you are planning on having just a few, I see no need to reduce the 1" pipe. The only reason I would see the need to do this is if you are using a bunch of relief points, or plan to expand the system to be much larger. Again, I have never messed around with a blower, just seen 1 in action. Sure others may have better advice, but this is what I think if it helps at all.
