Thanks for the suggestions. I have a few years experience with Amatitlania nigrofasciata. I won Amatitlania nigrofasciata at a fish auction in the early 90's. I thought to put them in a territorial tank with oscars and jack dempseys. The Amatitlania nigrofasciata were just to passive. So, I put them in a 29 gallon and tried to feed them guppies. Amatitlania nigrofasciata would not eat the guppies. I left the guppies in the tank as tanks mates. Then Amatitlania nigrofasciata spawned. The fact that Amatitlania nigrofasciata would not eat guppies is the reason I think Amatitlania nigrofasciata is a good fit with discus and angels. So, I am looking for Amatitlania nigrofasciata, or the new finds Amatitlania coatepeque, Amatitlania kanna, Archocentrus nanoluteus. Any leads is appreciated!
As far as keeping the keyhole cichlid and severums with the discus. I'd love to try them. If you have any keyhole cichlid and severum fry, I'd buy them or trade you for them. Rest assured they will go to a good home. Not all of my fish are bright colors. I like the natural colored fish.
I am keeping Apistogramma cacatuoides and electric blue rams with angelfish and discus. It is a fun combination. The A. cacatuoides just spawned for the third time. I highly recommend them. I had two male electric blue rams and one female. I think the two males were gay. The regularly mated, but they never laid eggs. The mating colors from the electric blue rams were beautiful regardless of the sexuality.
