DIY - Water Changer

So I got fed up buying those cheap blue plastic Water Changers on-line.  I found this DIY project surfing the net over the summer and I finally stopped at Home Depot yesterday and bought all the parts.  Once I let it fully cure for 24 hours, I plan on testing it out on my next WC.

I wanted to get brass quick disconnects but typical of Home Depot, they stopped carry any extra hose parts due to Winter approaching.  So I bought the cheap plastic ones to try out,  if they don't perform as I want I will be going out and getting the brass ones asap...

Here is an update, I had to nix the quick changers on my DYI water changer,  naturally I lost too much suction, should of known. So I replaced those with other connectors and it now works GREAT...Last minor change was I ended up putting a shutoff at the end of the hose...beats the mad dash thru the house to go from discharge to feed and worrying about the hose falling out of the tank.. LOL

I always fear for that hose falling out and I return to a flooded room. So far, I've been lucky! That's a smart improvement!
