dropped a tank, scarred to put on curb
« on: November 04, 2013, 11:07:43 AM »
So I was rinsing my newly acquired 29 gal qt tank out one last time before dragging it down to the basement. I had it on my concrete porch on the railing balancing it with one hand while spraying it off with the other, my hands were wet and it toppled over, smash.

The bottom pane and one side are the only sides that didn't break.
I was thinking about salvaging those 2 pieces and the plastic frames but decided it wouldn't be worth cutting myself over.

Now I got the thing half way into the garbage can as far as it will go, it is sort of "L" shaped so the wide part won't go in,  but I'm worried the garbage man might cut himself, or someone might try to pick through the rubbish and cut them self etc...

Any suggestions, should I wait for him to pull up and offer up the whole can, it's old and gross/ falling apart anyways

hmm, I never got a recycling bin, I know that sounds terrible but I don't recycle because I don't have the bin and never bothered to try to get one

Put all the broken glass in a box before you put it out.

no but to be fair we don't buy all that much that would need recycling anyways, very few bottles or cans.

but anyways, breaking the rest into the recycle bin seems like a dangerous proposition, the glass is thick and jagged

Throw it in the closest dumpster next time you go to the store.

another reason why I need to get a rusty truck :-)

I just know if I had a truck I would start hoarding and picking things out of people trash lol

Get a largish cardboard box, put it in the box and write "Danger, Broken Glass Inside" on the box and put it on the curb.

I doused it in gas and torched it out in the street but it won't melt, it's just all black and smoky. It got all chimney red and halloween orange for awhile but some neighbors started to yell that they were calling the cops so I ran inside to hide.

Totally kidding, I'll get a box
