Congrats! Keep it up. I quit in July 2010, after 10 years of smoking. Glad to see that. I think what Blair is subtly referring to is fishing for pocket trout. That's all I'm going to say about that though.
I have about 18,000 rounds of .223 I'm  looking to get rid of, 100 rd bags. 1-4 bags $40 ea, 5-9 bags $38 ea, 10 or more bags $35 ea. I can't put this in the for sale section, its not fish related. No shipping.

I quit cold turkey 19 months ago myself after 20 plus years of smoking my brains out.

If you smoke, quit.
After the first 48-72 hours it gets easier, everyday will be better than the last.
I can't believe I ever smoked now, I think it's so nasty.

My tips would be to quit cold turkey, and stop doing the things that triggered smoking, for me this meant no drinking alcohol, staying away from bars, not hanging out with smokers etc....

I didn't have an alcoholic beverage for the first 4 months and the first time I did I slipped up and smoked a cigarette, but I stomped it out and said "F" this, and never went back.

Steve I read the title and said " I wonder how Steve's wife feels about him dating" lol. Good job on not smoking.  No one wants to kiss a ash tray.

Awesome Job Steve

Its hard to quit but once you do and look back you ask your self "How did I ever do that"

Sept 2007 I took a one hit off a cig after I had quit 2 months before hand, and I told my self this taste like a dirty ashtray (I imagined what a dirty ashtray would taste like), and that was the last time I have had a cig.

I had smoked since 1990( took my dads) and glad I did quit.

It's really funny how you can enjoy something so much for years, then after you stop now even the smell of it smells bad to me.

Greg I agree with ya, cold turkey is the only way for me when I quite. I tried cutting down, switching brands, the patch, inhaler, non of it worked for me till I finally just tossed them out and quit cold turkey. The first few months were the hardest but now a days I don't even think about it . Probably one of the best choices I ever made in my life.

Congratulations.
It will be 10 years since I quit come February for me.
Every year I do a quick calculation on how much money I've "saved" by quitting.
When I quit smokes were $4.50 a pack, now they're around $6, using the average of $5.25 I'll have put more than $19,000 back in my pocket.
Best retirement plan ever  ;D
