Got these from craigs list / Milwaukee.  They were sent overnight and arrived healthy and active.

Thanks, I have them in a 29 g by themselves.  Read the 1st month is the trickiest, until they acclimate.  Have large piece of Mopani wood  and rock from established tank, along with some large shells.

Fingers crossed.

I found that its about 6 months... once they get over that hump, you should be in the clear.

I lost a few plecos that I thought were in great shape.  Was very disappointed when they all of a sudden went downhill.    :'(

They're coming out more and starting to eat.  Even in the day, while I'm in the room.

Are they coming out just to roam, or are they searching for food you put in the tank?

They are hanging out on top of the wood instead of hiding all the time.  Also, I have a piece of romaine lettuce hanging and they will come and feed on that.  Yesterday it was during the afternoon with the lights on and people in the room.  Granted, they did bolt with movement.  But its more active than 2 weeks ago.

So the interwebs were right, these pleco's like sweet potato.  I put in a slice last night.  the exposed side was eaten down nicely.
