Nice.  I would take the slate out.  When startled they will hurt themselves on it as they can dart across the tank.

I will do that. They've already darted and all I did was drop 4 pellets in. Is that a wild caught characteristic or are all fronts like that?

From what Ive seen with them once they get bigger they act that way quite a bit. They get pretty lazy some people think they are ambush predators but they are more of a opportunistic fish.
