Unusual oddballs?

Along the same lines as 'what are unusual/less common cichlids', I'm curious what oddballs everyone is keeping. Or what are your favorites.

E.g. hard to find catfish, weird fish, brackish fish, etc.

My current favorite and harder to find oddballs it would be my orange chromides...which could technically go under 'old world' but are not African but Asian.  And their tankmates the glassfish that are hard to find in their natural unpainted form.   Along with a few bumblebee gobies (in a different tank).

In addition to those, some of my favorite oddballs include a panda garra, an African glass catfish, African brown knife, African leaf fish, and a few bichirs - a 1+ year old senegalus about 6-7", and then two juvies, a 2" senegalus and 2.5" palmas.  And I really like my GSP and Fig 8 puffer, but those are pretty easy to source.  Maybe someday I'll try a red eye or arrowhead puffer.

Recently got a pair of rhinogobius zhoui or chinese vermilion goby from fantastic fins. I love the personalities that these little guys have. They have only been in the hobby since 2010 and there's not a whole lot of info but I'm treating them like any other rhinogobius species from their area. Hopefully I can get them to breed. Right now they are housed with a common half moon betta but I'll be ordering a wild type betta pair soon. Possible macrostoma or unimaculata to go in my hard to find Asian tank.

Oxyeleotris marmoratus marbled sand goby. I don't think they're very common

They're pretty cool. They get 2+ ft!

Any puffers I think are oddball.   They are not really hard to purchase... but you just hardly ever see them in someones home.  I would love to get one that reaches say softball size.

How about a vampire tetra.  Again... I see them in the stores sometimes, but hardly ever in anyones house with any size to them.  I would have one, but no tank to put them in at this time.

Lastly for now... a Gulper Cat.  I really want one of these too.

I think the reason most puffers die is 1) people keep in freshwater, 2) they keep with the wrong (any?) tankmates, and 3) they don't feed them well.  Oh, and 4, most places you get them from don't treat for parasites so a lot of them die in transit or shortly after you get them.  Kind of a bummer because they're neat fish.

Vampires are pretty sweet.

Fins gets in the gulpers now and again but they're $100+  IIRC.  I don't have enough tank space at the moment for fish that require their own tank.     But they are pretty nice.

Another one I'd love to get someday is a tiger datnoid.

7" polypterus palmas polli

2" Red Tailed Redeye Puffer

2 black spotted eels (1 is a year old and almost 17")

and my newest is a 6"  Green Shamper Royal L-418

Thanks and there both  Mastacembelus dayi.  Your eel look like a  Zig-Zag Eel.
