Keen eye Rich, that's actually a skeleton fish I carved out of foam and painted, but yes I loosely based it on the Loomis fish

My camera is a Canon 20d SLR with a Sigma 18-200 3.5-6.2 lens. I always try a few different settings when I take pics of my tanks because sometimes one setting will work better than the other and visa versa depending on if the fish are moving or very active or not. If they are moving around a lot then I usually shoot in manual mode with a high shutter speed and about a 5.6 f stop. Other times I will shoot in auto mode and bounce the flash off the ceiling so that it is not aimed directly at the tank. When I don't use the flash then I shoot from a tripod because the shutter stays open longer so you have to avoid blur by using the tripod. Then when I do that I use a remote wireless shutter trigger to further help avoid any camera shake.
