Hi i have some long fin bristle nose and today i found a large cluster of eggs tumbling across the bottom of my tank. From what ive read this is not normal and was wondering if anybody knows why this might have happend. The male has been spending 90 percent of his time in his cave  so i was assuming he was tending to the eggs but then this.Im new with plecos and was just looking for some input on the situation.Thanks

Sometimes the male slacks off. Particularly if he's new to egg tending.
If the eggs are still there, you can put them in an egg tumbler or even just a net with a circle of airline tubing to keep it open. Put an air stone under it to keep the eggs moving a bit. If they hatch, they will live on the egg yolk until it's consumed. Then you can start them on fry foods.

If you have another male, Put the eggs in a cave and him in a small tank,And use the water for the new tank from the tank they come from. Have done this before and sometimes he will take over. Good luck.

What kind of cave are you using? I heard that the eggs won't adhere well to plastics.

i used to make them outta slate and silicone
easy and fun

I was using boister bells made of clay but i think i will switch to the slate caves.Some of the eggs were yellow an some white ,could this have been the males issue maybe?Thanks guys
