Oyer's Cichlids
« on: December 22, 2011, 10:06:17 PM »
I have been looking for information on LFS's and Breeders in our area, and cam across Oyer's Cichlids. I tried to go to his website, based on the link at cichlid-forums.com, and it seems to be gone. I was wondering if they still are dealing with the public. From the reviews they sound like a wonderful couple and very helpful breeder. I would love to see their stock and learn from them. So just wondering if anyone knows if they are still actively working with the public.

I know they are still breeding and selling fish.  You have to email them to set up a time.  I went over there this fall with some GVAC members.  The oyers are great people and have wonderful fish.  I would have to look for the email, but if you are interested PM me and I will give it to you.

If you look at the top of the page, there is a search button.  If you do a search on "Oyer" you'll end up with their phone number, too.   ;)

Marty, I tried to search for oyers and just got links for this post.  Do you know a number for them?  I'd like to get some fish from them if possible.  I got beautiful aulonocara stuartgranti at the last fish auction and would like pick up some more fish.  Thanks

Well I finally made it over to Oyer's this weekend.  all I can say is WOW !

IMO - John and Betty are some nicest people I have met in along time,  we sat and talked for a while before starting to select fish.  I explained what I was looking for and they walked me past each of thier tanks and made some very good recommendations.

I was like a kid in a candy store.   ;D  ;D  ;D
