and a Man riding a bike
« on: June 06, 2013, 06:11:43 AM »
FIRE FIRE!!! Thank you to the good Samaritan riding his bike down the street  who knocked on our door this morning . We are all safe and the house is ok, but part of our deck was on fire. The firemen said 5 more minuets and it would have hit the house. Our chimnea broke from being overheated from the fire we had earlier and the embers started a fire:(. No more fires at this household. and Of course I'm one that runs into fires and not away, and grabbed the garden hose, and started putting water on it,and that's why the fire dept said in didn't go any farther. The little part of the fire was under the deck about 3 feet from the house!!! The Big part was about 7 Feet High and 10 feet wide

Glad everyone is safe and no real damage to the house Rich.

The next question- You had a fire going last night? Man I had my AC running here  ;D

Just think of THAT insurance claim. :P

Great that everybody is safe & there wasn't any damage to the house.

Those chimnea are dangerous! Thats the second time in a month I have heard a story about them shattering or breaking and setting a deck on fire.

Not be an ass... but what would possess someone to put fire on top of wood they don't want to burn... in the first place?

It was sitting on a metal frame, i would never have put it directly on the deck :)

No I have not found this gentleman yet

Today has been ruff,I was going on pure adrenaline till about 4 and it hit me how close itwas to being a total MESS.

I'm just in awe on how much damage and loss there could have been if we were not woken up,since it was outside and moving in. The house would have been totally engulfed before the fire alarms would have went off,and thats the part that has me freaked out right now.

that cold have definitely been bad news bears (walter mathau) i didnt know good samaritans still existed. thats refreshing to hear people still look out for people. was it a lance armstrong biker or a leather wearing beard growing biker? not that it matters, just curious.
I have about 18,000 rounds of .223 I'm  looking to get rid of, 100 rd bags. 1-4 bags $40 ea, 5-9 bags $38 ea, 10 or more bags $35 ea. I can't put this in the for sale section, its not fish related. No shipping.

Just some Black guy riding his bike down a main road at the right time,he knocked told us there was a fire, turned around and rode off. Never even had a chance to ask his name,as I would like to say thank you and gift him something for saving my  families life last night.

While all this happened and there were lights sirens kids screaming only one neighbor 2 doors down came down and asked if everyone was ok,but you could see the neighbors next door "peeking" thru there window :o

I have never been so Happy to have a total stranger riding there bike at 5 am like I am now.

So Thank You Mr black Man on a bicycle at 5am in Clinton township
