Tangerine Tiger

I have a pair of Tangerine Tiger that I have bred and am working with at the moment.  There seems to be some confusion on the species.  Does anyone know what scientific name they should be going by?  This is why I despise trade names lol.

Is it:
Protomelas taeniolatus (Chizumulu Is.)
Protomelas taeniolatus Likoma Island
Protomelas sp "Tangerine Tiger"
Or Protomelas fenestratus

Protomelas taeniolatus is what you should go by. the other 2 Protomelas taeniolatus with the capture points you would really need to know where it originated from. Sometimes you can tell because there are huge differences between the capture points maybe that will give you a better idea.

They're taeniolatus "tangerine tiger", those two didn't have a colection point.....

Some profiles do list them as Likoma Island. But, since they are just a geographic variant of P. Taeniolatus , then taeniolatus "tangerine tiger" would be correct.

Cichlid room companion doesn't list them separately.  So, IMO there's No need for you to.

I will tell you that Tangerine tigers do not know that they are a different species than red empress I put a red empress in their tank for a few minites and the male Tangerine and red empress went at it right away and he started courting the females right away

That's because they aren't a different species.

Awesome, that was the conclusion I had come to as well, I just wanted to get a few more opinions.
