at what age or size can cichlids start breeding?
« on: May 15, 2013, 11:23:00 PM »
at what age or size do some cichlids become mature enough to breed? i know its dependent upon species but i got a lot of fish as juvies so i want sure if it was months or years before they're ready. i have some ruby red peacocks, benga sunshine, yellow tail acei and a ton of yellow labs. i wasnt sure when to start looking out for breeding and holding females. plus i read about everyone's fish breeding like crazy... im jealous.
I have about 18,000 rounds of .223 I'm  looking to get rid of, 100 rd bags. 1-4 bags $40 ea, 5-9 bags $38 ea, 10 or more bags $35 ea. I can't put this in the for sale section, its not fish related. No shipping.

Yellow labs probably 2-2.5" or so?  There won't be many fry but they could be breeding then.

I've had peacocks and copadichromis breed at 2" (not intentionally, they were supposed to be growing out....).

Well then I will help them step up their game with some Barry white and boys II men, turn off the t5's and feed them by candle light... or I'll just keep looking and be patient.

The males will all be asleep while the females stay up with the fry.
