In both my display tanks... I have ended up with some females.
In the peacock tank, one of the females is actually quite aggressive... but not to the point of damaging other fish. I will eventually pull them out to make some room for some more males. But, they are thriving at the moment.
In the mixed tank, which is becoming more and more Mbuna all the time... I have an Albino Zebra and a Hongi Red Top that really compete for the females. It is interesting to watch and they really show off. But, the Albino is starting to get a little too aggressive I think.
When the females are pulled, will the males still display the color... or will they calm down and dull? Thats my hesitation in pulling the females out of this tank.
