Before my surgery I was very good about keeping all fish species separate , but now that I am getting my thinking cap back on and "preparing on paper" what I am going to do when i get back on my"feet" LOL, I want to sell off some of the adult fish, as its my plan and god knows how those change LOL, to keep certain "breeders" and the rest of my tanks are going to be just fry/grow out tanks basically be a fish grower.

I have a lot of fish mixed together since I had to consolidate tanks for the recovery period. Any fry that might be swimming when i get ready to move fish around will be "donated/culled"

I know I can take pictures but will someone be able to ID the fish just by pictures or do I have to hire blair to come ID all of them?

When I can stand on crutches for a period of time and start swapping fish in to tanks I will do that. It will be a fun adventure,well at least for you  guys LOL

Hey this could turn into an expanded version similar to Blair's "Guess what's in the box/bag" thread.
I think it will be a great way for people to learn some ID techniques. As some of the "guesses" are offered, Rich will be ale to verify if he actually had that species in the tank.
When you feel up to it Rich, I think you have willing participants

Yep, but I think it'll come down to the quality of the pictures. The smaller they are, the harder to get a good clear photograph IMO.

Not quite a journal, but I keep a list of all the fish that in each tank and keep them updated. 

As long as you can remember and are able to match the name with the fish in the tank... its good.

Good idea, I need to do that myself. With 7 filters running I always forget which I did or did not do maintenance on. I don't know how some of you guys that have even more tanks running keep track of things

I have an access database to keep track of species, if the are breeding, when I got them, what tank they are in.  Then I have a whiteboard in my fishroom to keep track of species holding and other things like filter maintenance.

I have an Excel sheet listing species for me, which I then move to a different page when I sell/trade/they die off.

Then I have a separate Excel sheet listing water changes and other maintenance.  I only have 16 tanks right now so I would need to go the Access or similar route if I had more to keep everything straight.
