NWR2339, They are Pseudotropheus Saulosi. The 'big guy' (see pic) is about twice the size of the rest and I suspect may have been responsible for some of the transit deaths, as he chases anything that gets anywhere near him. Upon closer inspection, I feel pretty sure it is a male.
The strange thing (I feel weird saying that, given my lack of experience, I should say "the thing my research never suggested would happen") is that they do not seem to be using the hiding places. With the exception of "big guy" they are all hanging around out front in a little 'school'.
Not what I expected... but I'll spend the next couple of days glued to the tank and evaluating every development....It's just my nature. Especially on a new adventure - and cichlids are a new adventure for me!
