Yes. They're nasty little Mbuna.
I'd recommended you put ALOT of rockwork in that 55.

Had them a few times, In a 120 gal, And the main male took over 1/2 the tank. Been looking for some nice ones again.

Definitely aggressive. Lots of rock work might help. Good luck!

I have noticed the aggression...There are lots of rock and hiding in the tank. I had them in my 120, but thought i might have better chances for a spawn in the smaller tank... Hopefully...

Bad idea. If you got that from the "why won't my labidochromis spawn" thread, there's a big difference in aggression levels between yellow labs and kenyi.

IMO kenyi get a bad rap because people put them in too small of a tank, much like the various Melanochromis species as well. In a 6' tank with proper stocking/aquascaping they're a cool mbuna.

Right now i have one male about 3inches and 3 females that are just a bit smaller, really great lookin fish, the male is very bright in color, and the females the same. They are the only fish in the 55gal. Which is heavily rocked up. Im just hoping for the best here...Just hoping for a spawn.

Yep. I'd be curious to hear if anyone's impression changes on temperament and tank size once they are full grown.

FYI - when i had my Kenyi trio they were in a 72x18x18 with what had to be over 300lbs of mostly lacerock.
The male took over 1/2 the tank.

The damn male is basically just keeping the 3 females on one side of the tank. Unless there being fed. Im not sure if he's just controlling them or trying to kill them sometimes, or maybe trying to court one and mate with her... Sort of a mean little guy...Im gonna wait it out just a bit and see how things go... ???
